WATCH OUT!

The manzaliña tree trunk, but also the leaves, fruits and sap are poisonous to humans. This tree grows in spots where groundwater is abundant and is an evergreen with a big canopy that provides nice shade, especially at many of our beaches. Contact with the parts of this tree can cause serious allergic reactions, burns on the skin and affect your eyesight. Even though some animals can eat the apple-like fruits, do not touch them. Wash and dry your hands well if you touch this tree. Do not hide under this tree when it is raining!
